Mohoş crater

Description

Mohoş crater (46°08'N, 025°54'E) is located within the Ciomadul volcano complex in the Eastern Carpathians (Romania). The crater is in-filled with lacustrine sediments that are overlain by a Holocene bog. Ciomadul volcano, hosting the superimposed craters of Mohoş and St. Ana, is the youngest volcanic edifice in the Carpathian-Balkan region. The sediments of Mohoş crater were drilled during a field campaign in June 2014.
